There’s an art display in Priory Chapel with artwork provided by children from nine schools in the Lewes area on the twin themes of Climate Change and Black Lives Matter. The submissions were curated by Anthony Kalume of Diversity Lewes with the help of local artist Maia Eden, and 24 pieces were chosen for printing and display. afterwards. Entry is strictly controlled by a guest list. Please reply to us directly ASAP if you hope to attend.
This Community Arts project started in 2021 with a successful crowdfunder appeal. Subsequently the Chair of Lewes District Council, Councillor Adrian Ross, topped up the budget from the Chair’s fund to meet the full printing costs. Finally, following a request by County Councillor Wendy Maples, East Sussex County Council refurbished the footbridge and installed the new panels.
