Your Conservative County Councillor votes for more speeding cars in our villages

Last month saw a proposal to introduce a 20 mph speed limit in residential areas supported by Green and Lib Dem Councillors voted down by Conservative Councillors. Zoe Nicholson, District Councillor and Leader of Lewes District Council says: "My inbox is literally full of residents in our villages complaining about excessive speeds, about our unsafe roads, in Chailey on the A272 and on the main road into Newick and other areas. So many people including the school at Chailey support a 20mph speed limit in the villages. It is quite astonishing that the Conservative Councillor for this area voted against this proposal at the County Council. Greens on the County Council and on the District Council won’t let this stop us. We will keep standing up for residents. Please do sign the 20s plenty petition linked from the QR code below to keep the pressure on our County Councillors".
