Zoe Nicholson, Chailey, East Sussex County Council
I’m a mum of two teenagers, and 2018 Sussex Businesswoman of the year as Chief Executive of a not-for-profit healthcare company in Sussex. As Leader of Lewes District Council, I steered through the first wave of the Covid pandemic. I want to become your county councillor to stand up for our villages. Vote for me and I’ll work hard on the issues that matter to you.
Johnny Denis, Ringmer and Lewes Bridge, East Sussex County Council
I’ve lived in and around Lewes and Ringmer for nearly 40 years, and I have a long track record of real action for our communities here. I’m a leading District Councillor, in charge of making sure the Council is easy to contact and deal with, so that people can sort out problems and get the help they need. I’m also a hardworking Parish Councillor for both Ringmer and Glynde & Beddingham. I have the experience and the know-how to do you proud as your County Councillor.
Gemma McFarlane, Seaford North, East Sussex County Council
I'm a working mum of two, who is co-founder of a new community group for a greener Seaford. Lives have changed since the pandemic. We need Councillors who will step up and embrace these changes. I’m standing for County Council because I’m prepared to listen, work hard to address your concerns, and speak up for local people instead of ignoring them
Dr. Wendy Maples, Lewes, East Sussex County Council
A Winterbourne resident since 1998, I work in education helping to improve people’s life chances through learning, and am a Lewes Town Councillor. For me, being a Councillor means being upfront about what I stand for, getting things right and getting things done. I have changed Town Council allotment policy to make our growing spaces more sustainable and wildlife friendly. My motion to support the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty means that Lewes is the first Council in the UK to have signed up. I have the energy, determination and experience to make positive changes at County Council
James Meek, Seaford East, Lewes District Council
I’m a hard working Town Councillor in Seaford. I’d like to use my experience of working on behalf of the community to represent you on Lewes District Council. I’ll work hard to make sure Seaford is a greener place to live and is not forgotten.
Emily O'Brien, Newhaven and Bishopstone, East Sussex County Council
I'm a leading District Councillor and an outspoken campaigner on the A259. As spokesperson for Community Action Newhaven I led the battle against Newhaven Port Access Road and Brett Aggregates.
Paul Keene, Ouse Valley West & Downs, East Sussex County Council, and Newhaven Town Council
I am a Newhaven resident employed at The University of Sussex in Research Computing. If elected, I will listen to and stand up for residents to help ensure local, green, sustainable jobs are developed.
