Lewes District Greens celebrate local election success in a wipe-out of Conservatives.

Greens became the largest party on Lewes District Council, winning seats like Wivelsfield which has had Conservative councillors for 50 years.

  • The Conservative Party was wiped out with zero councillors (previously the largest group).
  • Lewes District Green Party now has 17 councillors on Lewes District Council, making them the largest party and smashing Conservative dominance in the area. 
  • Greens replaced Conservatives in rural seats previously held for up to 50 years.

Lewes District Greens are celebrating a record set of results in Thursday’s local elections, with the Tories wiped out, reduced to zero seats from 19. The Green Party now has 17 seats on Lewes District Council.
